                   Notification of Major Interests in Shares

Volex Group p.l.c. has today received notification pursuant to section 198
Companies Act 1985 confirming the following;

That Royal Mail Pensions Trustees Limited and Possfund Custodian Trustee Ltd
have LOANED 100,000 ordinary 25p shares, (0.350%) of the Company's issued share
capital, which has resulted in a reduction in their material interest in the
shares of the Company. As at 17 July 2003, their direct holding following this
transaction was 1,630,942 ordinary 25p shares (5.702%). These shares are
registered in the name of PossFund Nominees Ltd.
