               Notification of Change in Major Interest in Shares


On 31st March 2004, Volex Group p.l.c. made an announcement that it had that day
received notification pursuant to Part VI of the Companies Act 1985, that the
Co-operative Insurance Society Limited had sold 550,000 shares on 29th March
2004, which had resulted in its beneficial interest reducing to 1.58%
representing 466,142 ordinary 25p shares in the issued share capital of Volex
Group plc.

A further notification was later received on 31st March 2004 confirming that the
Co-operative Insurance Society Limited had cancelled the sale of 550,000 shares
and accordingly it retains its beneficial interest of 3.44% representing
1,016,142 ordinary 25p shares in the issued share capital of Volex Group plc.
