WH Ireland Group plc
('WH Ireland' or 'the Group')
AGM Statement
WH Ireland, which provides stockbroking, corporate finance, investment
management and financial services to both private and institutional clients, is
holding its Annual General Meeting at 10 am today and Chairman, Sir David
Trippier, will make the following comments:
'The stockmarket remains buoyant, as do our trading volumes and turnover, which
are significantly ahead of those of last year. As part of our strategic plan to
drive the growth of our business, we have continued to invest heavily in both
people and IT since the year end.
Our Corporate Finance department is growing revenues by focusing on mandates for
larger projects, with fewer small flotations being undertaken. Consequently, the
timing of completions of some of these major projects may have a
disproportionate effect on this division's results.
The Group continues to grow and we look forward to the future with confidence.'
