Grant of share options to a director

WH Ireland is today pleased to announced that, further to the announcement released on 25 June 2008, Richard Ford has joined the Board of WH Ireland as Chief Executive Officer.

The Company also announces that it has today granted a total of 850,000 performance related share options over ordinary shares of 5 pence each to Richard Ford. The exercise price of these options will be 108 pence, the options are exercisable from 8th May 2011 and will expire on 7th May 2018. The options have been granted under the W H Ireland Group plc Unapproved Share Option Scheme.

In addition to these share options Richard Ford holds 100,000 ordinary shares of 5 pence each in the Company.
