WEIR GROUP ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Further to our earlier announcement of the appointment of John Mogford to the
Board as a non-executive director with effect from 1 June 2008, we would confirm
that there are no disclosures by Listing Rules 9.16.13 R (1) to (6) and John
Mogford does not have any interest in the shares of the Weir Group PLC.
