Fidelity International Limited ('FIL') and FMR Corp notified The Weir Group PLC
('the Company') on 20 June 2006 that their material interest totalled on 19 June
2006 a holding of 20,390,713 ordinary shares in the Company representing 9.97%
of the Company's issued share capital as detailed in the table below, and that
such notification also comprised the interest of Edward C. Johnson III as a
principal shareholder of FIL and FMR Corp.


The notification of change is due to the sale of 108,700 ordinary shares.


Percentage holdings are calculated using an issued share capital of 204,583,341
