                          Transfer of Treasury Shares



The Weir Group PLC ('the Company') announces that on 18 September 2007, 12,881
ordinary shares of 12.5p each held as treasury shares were transferred to a
participant to satisfy an award granted on 2 September 2004 under the Group
Long-Term Incentive Plan.

Following the above transfer, the Company now holds 2,871,407 ordinary shares in
treasury and has 209,182,863 ordinary shares in issue (excluding shares held as
treasury shares).
