of its ordinary shares of 12.5p each on the London Stock Exchange via UBS
Investment Bank.

Date of purchase:                     18.04.2005

Number of ordinary shares purchased:  60,000

Average price paid per share:         326.6667p

Highest price paid:                   327p

Lowest price paid:                    325p

Weir intends to hold the purchased shares in treasury.

Following the purchase of these shares, Weir holds 390,000 of its ordinary
shares in treasury and has 206,897,988 ordinary shares in issue (excluding
treasury shares).
