                          Transfer of Treasury Shares



The Weir Group PLC ('the Company') announces that on 4 December 2007, 19,310
ordinary shares of 12.5p each held as treasury shares were transferred to
participants to satisfy awards granted in 2004 under the Group Long-Term
Incentive Plan.

Following the above transfer, the Company now holds 2,852,097 ordinary shares in
treasury and has 209,209,503 ordinary shares in issue (excluding shares held as
treasury shares).
