                          Transfer of Treasury Shares



The Weir Group PLC ('the Company') announces that on 11 March 2008, 12,816
ordinary shares of 12.5p each held as treasury shares were transferred to
participants to satisfy awards granted in 2004 under the Group Long-Term
Incentive Plan.

Following the above transfer, the Company now holds 2,839,097 ordinary shares in
treasury and has 209,310,120 ordinary shares in issue (excluding shares held as
treasury shares).
