Announcement of transaction in ordinary shares by a Person Discharging Managerial Responsibility

On Friday 8 January 2010, Rebecca Payton, a person discharging managerial responsibility at JD Wetherspoon plc sold 8,428 of the company's ordinary shares at a price of 4.67112p per share. 

Following the above transaction, Mrs Payton now holds an interest of 12,227 ordinary shares in the Company.
