Announcement of transaction in ordinary shares by a Person Discharging Managerial Responsibility

On 22 July 2010 Simon Cacioppo, husband of Su Cacioppo, who is a board director at JD Wetherspoon plc, sold 8,000 of the Company's ordinary shares at a price of 425p per share.

Following this transaction, Mr and Mrs Cacioppo hold a combined interest of 40,137 ordinary shares in the Company.
