Announcement of transaction in ordinary shares by a Person Discharging Managerial Responsibility

On Friday 6 May 2011 Rebecca Payton, a person discharging managerial responsibility at JD Wetherspoon plc, sold 5,223 of the Company's ordinary shares at a price of 447.40p per share.

Following this transaction, Mrs Payton now holds an interest of 6,278 ordinary shares in the Company.
