Announcement of transaction in ordinary shares by a Director/PDMR

The Company was informed today that on 18 October 2012 Helena Geoghegan, wife of Martin Geoghegan, a PDMR of JD Wetherspoon plc, sold 5,170 of the company's ordinary shares at a price of 498.705p per share. The joint holding of Mr and Mrs Geoghegan is now 20,298 ordinary shares in the Company.
