Posting of circular to shareholders:
Further to the announcement made on 14 March 2005 regarding the proposed
disposal of Whitbread's franchised Marriott hotels business and special dividend
of 135 pence and share consolidation, Whitbread announces that on 5 April 2005
it posted to Shareholders a circular containing further details of the
Transaction and a notice of an Extraordinary General Meeting to be held on 22
April 2005 to seek the requisite approval from Shareholders.
A copy of the Circular has been submitted to the UK Listing Authority and is
available for public inspection at the UK Listing Authority's Document Viewing
Facility, which is situated at:
Financial Services Authority, 25 The North Colonnade, Canary Wharf, London E14
5HS.
