Restatement of accounts under International Financial Reporting Standards



At 7.00am on Wednesday 3 August 2005, Whitbread PLC will publish preliminary
financial statements for the financial year 2004/5, restated in accordance with
International Financial Reporting Standards.



A conference call for analysts and fund managers will be held at 10.30am on
Wednesday 3 August. Details of the conference call will be published with the
restated financial statements.
