                              DIRECTOR DECLARATION

Further to an announcement made on 9th December 2004, relating to the
appointment of Christopher Rogers as Finance Director of Whitbread PLC with
effect from 1 May 2005, this notice contains certain information required to be
disclosed in accordance with paragraph 16.4 of the Listing Rules.

In accordance with paragraph 16.4(a) Christopher Rogers has been a director of
the following publicly quoted company during the previous 5 years.

Woolworths Group PLC (resigned 24 March 2005) 

He has not been a director of any other publicly quoted companies during this
period.

There is no information of the kind described in paragraph 6.F.2(b) to (g) of
the Listing Rules relating to Christopher Rogers required to be disclosed
pursuant to paragraph l6.4(b).

At the date of his appointment Chris Rogers held 7,500 Ordinary shares in
Whitbread PLC.
