WHITBREAD SELLS CHISWELL STREET SITE
Whitbread PLC announced today that it has agreed to sell its conference and
banqueting business and the associated properties at Chiswell Street in London
to St James Capital Chiswell Street Limited, a member of Earls Court & Olympia
Group, for a consideration of £55 million.
The consideration is payable in cash and the transaction is expected to complete
in early October.
Alan Parker, Chief Executive, Whitbread PLC said 'We have previously announced
our strategy to exit from non-core parts of our business and made clear our
plans to dispose of the Chiswell Street site. This has been achieved at a sale
price above book value.'
