WHITBREAD SCRIP DIVIDEND SCHEME

In relation to the dividend for the year ended 3 March 2011, the price of a new ordinary share under the scrip dividend alternative has been set at 1641.6 pence.  This is the average of the Company's middle market closing price for the five consecutive dealing days commencing on the ex‑dividend date of 11 May 2011.

Shareholders wishing to elect to participate in the scrip dividend scheme may do so either by completing a mandate form which can be requested by telephoning 0844 855 2327 and returning it electronically through the shareholder portal at www.whitbread-shares.com or to the Company's Registrar at:
