WHITBREAD SCRIP DIVIDEND SCHEME

In relation to the dividend for the half year ended 29th August 2013, the price of a new ordinary share under the scrip dividend alternative has been set at 3442.2 pence.  This is the average of the Company's middle market closing price for the five consecutive dealing days commencing on the ex‑dividend date of 6th November 2013.

Shareholders wishing to elect to participate in the scrip dividend scheme can do so electronically through the shareholder portal at www.whitbread-shares.com. Alternatively, a mandate form can be requested by telephoning 0844 855 2327. Completed mandate forms should be returned to the Company's Registrar at:

Shareholders who hold their shares in CREST and wish to elect to participate must do so by means of CREST procedures.
