   Acquisition of real-time health news information company Agence de Presse
                           Medicale International SAS


The Board of Wilmington Group plc ('Wilmington') is pleased to announce that
Wilmington Business Information Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary, has today
acquired the issued share capital of Agence de Presse Medicale International SAS
('APM') from the Reuters Group.


The consideration for the acquisition was approximately £5.27 million and was
satisfied in cash on completion.


APM and its wholly owned subsidiary APM Media SARL (together 'APM Group') are
based in Paris and provide a real-time health news information service in the
French language for a subscriber base of hospital managers, general
practitioners, pharmaceutical companies and government and public bodies.


The profits after tax* of APM Group for the 11 month period to 30 November 2003
were €917,000 (approximately £669,000) and the net assets* of APM Group as at 30
November 2003 were €626,000 (approximately £457,000).


The acquisition of APM will enable Wilmington to develop further its publishing
and information interests for the healthcare and pharmaceutical markets.
Wilmington already has substantial and growing interests in these markets
through its Binley's branded products and publication of relevant magazine
titles. It is anticipated that APM will contribute positively as a member of the
Wilmington Group.
