Acquisition
Further investment in supply chain services to UK construction industry
Wincanton plc ('Wincanton'), the leading European supply chain solutions
provider, today announces the acquisition of Swales Haulage Ltd ('Swales'), a
privately owned business, for a debt-free consideration of £5.3m. The
acquisition further strengthens the Group's position in the UK building services
market.
Swales is one of the top five businesses within the building services market,
operating from 11 locations across the UK. It has built up an excellent
reputation in this market and has established successful long-term relationships
with its customers.
In the twelve months to 30th September 2007, Swales reported, on a pro-forma
basis, turnover of approximately £6.4m, EBIT of approximately £0.6m, and EBITDA
of approximately £0.9m.

acquisition.
The acquisition of Swales will strengthen Wincanton's leading position in this
sector and follows the successful integration of RDL into the business in
October 2006.'
