Acquisition strengthens German High-Tech logistics operations
Wincanton plc ('Wincanton' or the 'Group'), the leading European supply chain
solutions provider, today announces the acquisition of HeBo GmbH ('HeBo'), a
specialist provider of logistics services to the High-Tech industry in the North
Rhine-Westfalia region.
The acquisition is the latest in a series of in-fill acquisitions in the UK and
mainland Europe that are developing the Group's profitability, broadening its
business base and generating incremental opportunity for medium and longer-term
growth. This acquisition enhances the service capability of Wincanton's
High-Tech logistics activities and reinforces its position as a leading operator
in this specialist sector in Germany.
HeBo, based in Dusseldorf, Germany, is being acquired for an initial debt-free
consideration of €2.9m. A further €0.5m may be payable subject to the financial
performance of HeBo in the year to 31 March 2009. HeBo employs approximately 50
people and, in the year to 31 December 2007, reported, on a pro-forma basis,
turnover of approximately €3.2m, EBITDA of €0.5m and EBIT of €0.4m.
Graeme McFaull, Wincanton's Chief Executive, commented:
'Wincanton has a strong track record of growth, both organic and through
acquisition. We continue to enhance the scope and scale of our operations with
acquisitions such as this that broaden our sector expertise and reinforce our
geographic presence in key markets.'
