                  'Good progress towards strategic objectives'

Victor Benjamin, Chairman of Wincanton, made the following statement at the
Company's AGM this morning:

'We expect a year of good progress towards our strategic objectives.  Current
trading is not without its challenges, but performance to date is broadly in
line with our expectations.  The integration of our recent acquisition continues
to progress according to plan and new business enquiries are at a very
encouraging level'.
