AGM Statement
'Wincanton trading ahead of budget'
Victor Benjamin, Chairman of Wincanton, will give the following trading update
at the Company's AGM this morning:
'Wincanton has made a good start to the current financial year and, at the end
of the first quarter, is trading ahead of budget.
'Our new business development teams have made encouraging progress towards their
challenging targets for the year. Since the year-end, new contract gains in the
UK include wins with B&Q, Comet, Heinz, Procter & Gamble, Tesco, Tulip and
Woolworth. In Continental Europe, we have added new business with Numico in
Central Europe and Goodyear-Dunlop in Slovakia.
The first of a number of anticipated disposals of surplus properties has also
been completed, raising approximately £5m.'
