Board Changes
Wincanton plc ('Wincanton') announces a number of Board changes addressing
developments in the business.
Ernest Zeida, Managing Director, Group Services, has retired from the Board. As
part of an internal re-organisation, Wincanton is allocating the separate
functions within Group Services directly to its business units.
Paul Bateman, Chief Executive of Wincanton commented on Ernest Zeida's
retirement:
'We would like to express our warmest thanks to Ernest for his contribution to
Wincanton over the past 20 years. He has played a major role in the development
of the business, in particular as Managing Director of the former Industrial and
Commercial Division and latterly as Managing Director Group Services. We wish
him well for the future.'
Dr. Walter Hasselkus is appointed to the Board as a Non-executive Director with
effect from 1st January 2004. Dr Hasselkus, 61, is a German national and has
held senior level positions in BMW, where he was on the Board of Management and
also Chairman and Chief Executive of Rover Group. He is currently a
Non-executive Director of DAF Trucks NV and holds a number of other senior
positions.
Nigel Sullivan is appointed to the Board as Group Human Resources Director from
1st January 2004. Nigel, 37, joined Wincanton in November 2002 and previously
held senior roles in HR at Nortel Networks and at Marconi plc.
Paul Bateman, Chief Executive of Wincanton also commented:
'I am delighted to welcome our two new Board members. Their appointments
recognise both the ongoing importance of the quality of our people, and the
growing significance of our German and other Continental European operations.'
