Board changes

 

Wincanton, a leading provider of supply chain solutions in the UK and Ireland, announces that Martin Sawkins, who has served as a non-executive director of the Group since 2012, will retire from the Board on 31 December 2018.

 

Gill Barr will succeed Martin Sawkins as Chair of the Remuneration Committee with effect from 6 November 2018. Gill joined the Board of Wincanton in September 2017 as an independent non-executive director and member of the Group's Audit, Nomination and Remuneration committees. Gill is also the Chair of the Remuneration Committee of N Brown Group plc and served as Chair of the Remuneration Committee of Morgan Sindall plc from 2004 to 2012.

 

Commenting on today's announcement, Martin Read, Chairman of the Group said:

 

"I would like to thank Martin for the significant contribution he has made to Wincanton during his time on the Board and as Chair of the Remuneration Committee and am pleased that Gill will be taking over from him as our new Remuneration Committee Chair.

 

The Group has started a process to appoint a replacement non-executive director and will update the market in due course."
