For Immediate Release 7 February 2006
Wincanton plc
('the Company' or 'the Group')
Board and Organisational Change
Wincanton plc, the leading European supply chain services provider, today
announces that Peter Brown, Managing Director of the Group's Continental
European operations, will leave the company by the end of the current financial
year and is standing down from the Wincanton Board with immediate effect.
A flatter, more flexible management structure is important to both the
acceleration of the progress made to date in Wincanton's Continental European
businesses and to the continuing development of the Group as a whole.
As part of the same process of organisational re-alignment, management teams in
Continental Europe have been reinforced and key support functions have been
re-structured on a group-wide basis.
Graeme McFaull, Group Chief Executive, commented:
'We must consistently focus on enhancing customer relationships, operational
performance and innovative solutions if we are to build further on our position
as a European leader. These management and organisational changes will help us
deliver this focus.
We are grateful to Peter for his contribution over many years to the development
of Wincanton and wish him continuing success in the future.'
