£275m M&S Contract Awarded
Wincanton Strengthens Market-Leading Position in Retail Sector
Wincanton plc ('Wincanton' or the 'Group'), the leading European supply chain solutions provider, is pleased to announce that it is becoming a strategic partner to Marks & Spencer ('M&S') following the award of three, five-year contracts to run critical areas of the M&S supply chain. The contracts are expected to generate some £275m of turnover for the Group.
This major award is further confirmation of Wincanton's market-leading position in added-value supply chain services to the retail sector.
The new contracts will see Wincanton managing M&S's home delivery network for furniture and large products as well as the distribution of general merchandise in the South of England. They also extend the current agreement for the national management of shop fittings and store equipment.
Graeme McFaull, Wincanton Chief Executive commented:
'We are delighted with this very significant expansion of our business with M&S, which creates a major new strategic partnership for Wincanton and confirms and strengthens our market-leading position in the retail sector.
We look forward to working closely with M&S to achieve its environmental and operational goals and to delivering a store-based and home delivery supply chain that is both sustainable and cost-effective.'
