WINCANTON SECURES MULTI-CHANNEL DISTRIBUTION CONTRACT WITH B&Q

Wincanton confirms its market leading position as the leading retail supply chain specialist

Wincanton, a leading provider of supply chain solutions in the UK & Ireland, today announces it has successfully secured a multi-million pound agreement with B&Q, one of the UK's best known retail brands, to support their growing multi-channel operations across the UK.

As part of the agreement, Wincanton will manage B&Q's 1 million sq ft Showroom Fulfilment Centre in Burton on Trent, which houses the retailer's kitchen, bathroom and bedroom ranges. It is estimated circa nine million cases of merchandise will be handled per annum.  

Wincanton is also planning all transport routes for B&Q, fulfilling approximately 500,000 customer orders for the home and garden specialist's supply chain requirements across the UK utilising its specialist multi-channel expertise.

This latest announcement builds on two further B&Q contract wins, one with the company's container business and the other for its national planning department referred to above, both announced earlier this year in May.
