Appointment of new Chief Executive Officer

Witan Investment Trust plc announces the appointment of Mr Robert E Clarke BSc MSc ACA as Chief Executive Officer, with effect from 15 September 2008.  He will join the Board on that date.  

The current Chief Executive Officer, Mr Jim Horsburgh, will retire from the Board on 31 October 2008.     

Robert Clarke, who is 50, was until March 2008 a director and Chief Executive of Majedie Investments PLC.  

There is no information to be disclosed under Listing Rule 9.6.13 R in respect of Mr Clarke.
