   Cancellation of Market Purchase by the Company of its own Ordinary Shares


On 18 March 2003 Witan Investment Trust plc notified a market purchase of
100,000 ordinary shares of 25p each of the Company at a price of 250p per share.
The Company now gives notification that that transaction has been cancelled, at
no loss to the Company.

Accordingly, 349,038,086 ordinary shares of 25p each of the Company remain in
issue.
