WOOD GROUP ANNOUNCES TWO NEW
GROUP BOARD APPOINTMENTS
John Wood Group PLC ('Wood Group') is pleased to announce the appointment of
Trevor Noble and Les Thomas as Group Executive Directors. Both will join Wood
Group in March and will join the Board shortly thereafter.
Following the impending retirement of Bill Edgar, Group Director for the
Engineering & Production Facilities Division, Trevor Noble will be responsible
for engineering activities and Les Thomas for production facilities activities
within the Division. The decision to make two Group Board appointments
reflects the global development and growth potential of the Division.
Trevor Noble is currently Senior Vice President of Offshore Operations, Kellog
Brown & Root (KBR), based in London, responsible for KBR's global offshore
activities covering Houston, London, Singapore and Baku. He has held various
management positions with Brown & Root since 1977. Les Thomas is currently
President of Marathon Oil UK and Europe Business Leader responsible for
Marathon's operations in the UK, Ireland and Norway.
Sir Ian Wood, Chairman and Chief Executive of Wood Group said, 'We are delighted
to have two such experienced and knowledgeable new Board colleagues. Trevor's
significant global experience in engineering will assist us to further develop
the breadth and geographic spread of our engineering activities. Les brings to
our Production Facilities activities the full spectrum of knowledge and
experience of a senior oil operator. We are increasingly being asked to take
on an enhanced scope of services as outsourcing progresses around the world and
Les's expertise will be highly relevant'.
'Bill Edgar has done a great job for us over the last nine years and in May
takes on the role of President of the British Institution of Mechanical
Engineers. Bill will continue with some part-time work for the Group.'
Trevor Noble said, 'I am looking forward very much to leading Wood Group's
continuing engineering development world-wide. The engineering activities have
grown very successfully in the last three years, principally in the US, and
plans are now under way to broaden the international coverage. I am also
looking forward to participating as a Director of one of the UK's most
successful global energy services businesses'.
Les Thomas commented, 'I am excited at the prospect of moving to the contracting
and supply side of our industry, where I believe my knowledge and experience are
very relevant to Wood Group's continuing success in providing production support
to a range of operators round the world. I have been a great admirer of Wood
Group's successful global growth, and am looking forward to contributing to
this.'
