John Wood Group PLC ('Wood Group')
Chairman's AGM Statement
'On track for a return to acceptable growth in 2005'
At today's Annual General Meeting, Sir Ian Wood, Chairman and Chief Executive of
Wood Group, the international energy services provider, commented:
'In 2005, our strong position in key growth segments in Oil & Gas markets
worldwide and the actions taken to improve the results in our under-performing
areas are providing the anticipated improvement in trading results in the early
months of the year.
'In Engineering and Production Facilities, we are winning a range of new
contracts, including the provision of detailed design to the East Area Natural
Gas Liquids project offshore Nigeria and, as part of a joint venture, the
recently-awarded provision of FEED and EPCM services to Greater Gorgon, a major
gas development offshore Western Australia.
'Well Support is continuing to make good progress in strong Oil & Gas markets
round the world, and in Gas Turbine Services we are winning further long term
contracts, including the Alliant F-Tech service contract announced today.
'Overall, we confirm our confidence that 2005 will see a return to acceptable
growth.'
