WOOD GROUP CONTINUES GLOBAL EXPANSION OF ENGINEERING OPERATIONS -
ESTABLISHMENT OF MUSTANG ENGINEERING LONDON OFFICE & ACQUISITION
OF WOODHILL ENGINEERING CONSULTANTS
John Wood Group PLC ('Wood Group') has expanded its Eastern Hemisphere
engineering base in London. Subsidiary Mustang Engineering, the leading offshore
engineering design house in Houston, has opened a new office in London as part
of its global expansion strategy. Tony Cruddas has been appointed the Chief
Operating Officer ('COO') with responsibility for developing Mustang's
engineering and project management services in Upstream, Midstream and
Downstream into Europe, Africa, Middle East and the Former Soviet Union.
Wood Group is also pleased to announce the acquisition of Woodhill Engineering
Consultants ('Woodhill') to enhance its London-based engineering capability.
Woodhill provides a wide range of engineering consultancy services to clients in
the Eastern Hemisphere oil & gas industry. Frontier Engineering, Wood Group's
facilities consultancy company in the UK, will be integrated with Woodhill, as
Woodhill Frontier, under the direction of Bill Hobbs, the former owner of
Woodhill, who will report to Tony Cruddas. Woodhill Frontier will expand their
capability in facilities and safety consultancy, and in concept definition and
FEED for small field developments, and will provide a resource base to support
the Mustang operation.
'A key medium-term strategic focus is to continue to globalise Wood Group's
engineering activities,' said Trevor Noble, Board Director responsible for the
Group's engineering activities. 'In order to target important growth regions in
the Eastern Hemisphere, we are enhancing our London-based capability. We will
achieve this by building on Mustang's expertise and reputation, and the
capability and service offering of our London-based operations, including
Woodhill'.
'The move to establish a Mustang European office is in response to customer
demand and we will be providing unique and cost effective solutions to them in
the Eastern Hemisphere,' said Tony Cruddas. 'We are looking forward to the
challenge of translating Mustang's great success in the Americas into achieving
leading positions in our key areas of Upstream, Midstream and Downstream
engineering within the important markets of Europe, Middle East, Africa and the
Former Soviet Union. We are also pleased to welcome Woodhill into the Group and
will be looking to expand their current service offering'.
