The Company received a notification on 6 December 2004, from F&C Asset Mangement
Plc, on behalf of the client FPCP Stewardship, informing it that as a result of
purchases totalling 19,340 ordinary shares on the 3 December 2004, they now have
a material interest of 687,407 ordinary shares, representing 4.07% of the issued
ordinary share capital of the Company.

The shares are registered in the name of HSBC GS Nominees Limited

This notification supersedes all previous notification given by members of the
Friends Provident Group in relation to Shares for this client..
