                  WORKSPACE STRENGTHENS BOARD WITH APPOINTMENT
                          OF NEW NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Workspace Group PLC, ('Workspace') the leading provider of flexible business
accommodation to small and medium sized enterprises in London and the South
East, has appointed John Bywater as a non-executive director, with effect from
the 9th June 2004.

John Bywater is currently Managing Director of Hammerson UK PLC and main board
director of FTSE-250 quoted property group Hammerson PLC. He is a Chartered
Surveyor and has an excellent track record of successful commercial property
development and managing large retail property schemes. He has previously worked
as a partner of Donaldsons and was a director of the Burton Group.
