Gavin Kaye to Stand Down as Group Finance Director

Worthington Group plc announce that Gavin Kaye, Group Finance Director, is today
standing down from the Board to take up the position of Finance & Technical
Director of Health-Media.Net, the UK's leading online health news and
information network.  Gavin Kaye will continue to work on a part-time basis for
Worthington Group plc until 30 June 2000.

The Board are intending to shortly announce the appointment of a new Group
finance Director who will take up Gavin Kaye's position on 1 May 2000.

The Board would like to record their thanks to Gavin Kaye for his efforts over
the last seven years and wish him all the very best for the future.
