WPP Group PLC 22 August 2000 WPP GROUP PLC ('WPP') WPP acquires loyalty marketing firm, The Lacek Group, in the United States WPP's wholly-owned operating company, OgilvyOne Worldwide, the direct and interactive marketing network, has acquired The Lacek Group, Inc. and Lacek Systems and Software, Inc. ('Lacek') in the United States from EDS Customer Relationship Management, Inc. Lacek is a Minneapolis-based relationship marketing agency that specialises in loyalty marketing. Lacek will be merged with OgilvyOne's existing business. Lacek is a highly-awarded company, with 120 people in Minneapolis, Seoul and Singapore, designing, building and implementing programmes which help marketers make customers return more often with industry-leading software that manages customer activity. Clients include Jaguar, Starwood Hotels & Resorts (named as best loyalty program award in 2000 by USA Today). The company had revenues of $18,164,000 in 1999 and net assets of $2,419,000 as at 31 December 1999. OgilvyOne has aggressively expanded its offerings to provide enhanced relationship marketing capabilities.
