WPP acquires web consultancy Interact
WPP announces that its wholly-owned operating company,
Ogilvy & Mather Ireland ('O&M') has acquired 75% of the
equity of Interact, a leading internet strategy company
based in Ireland, and entered into put options in respect
of the remaining 25%.
Established in 1994, Interact is one of the longest-
established Irish web consultancy firms, providing
internet and interactive branding services, website
consultancy and design, and internet training courses.
Interact's clients include Nestle Rowntree, VHI, Mid
Western Health Board, Setanta Sport and the National
Library of Ireland.
The company had revenues of IR£620,000 in 1999 and net
assets of IR£33,000 as at 31 December 1999.
The acquisition of Interact launches OgilvyInteractive in
Ireland and will strengthen Ogilvy's 360 degree brand
management system by bringing clients' brand building
strategies on-line. OgilvyInteractive is a division of
OgilvyOne Worldwide, the most experienced direct,
interactive and relationship network in the world with
3,000 people and expected billings for the year 2000 of
$2.7bn.
