WPP was notified on 24 April 2006 that Mr Paul Richardson, a director of WPP,
has sold 38,000 ordinary shares of WPP on that date at a price of £7.01 per
share to fund personal financial commitments.

Following this transaction, Mr Richardson is interested in 188,176 ordinary
shares, representing 0.015% of the  issued share capital of the  company
