ANNOUNCEMENT
WPP GROUP PLC ('the Company')
WPP was notified on 7 March 2001 of the following changes to directors'
interests in WPP Ordinary 10p shares ('shares') pursuant to the terms of the
WPP Performance Share Plans for the periods 1996 to 1998 and 1997 to 1999 and
1998 to 2000.
55,179 shares vested in Paul Richardson, 33,106 of which have been retained
and 22,073 have been sold to fund tax liabilities. Mr Richardson's beneficial
holding is 383,849 shares representing 0.034% of the issued share capital of
WPP.
49,584 shares vested in Eric Salama, 13,878 of which have been retained and
the balance sold to fund tax liabilities and other personal commitments. Mr
Salama's resultant beneficial holding is 443,454 shares representing 0.039% of
the issued share capital of WPP.
57,042 shares vested in Brian Brooks, 28,515 of which have been retained and
the balance sold to fund tax liabilities. Mr Brooks resultant beneficial
holding is 390,298 shares representing 0.034% of the issued share capital of
WPP.
