Interactive Marketing Concepts Acquired

WPP Group PLC 31 March 2000 WPP GROUP ('WPP') J. Walter Thompson acquires Interactive Marketing Concepts in Canada WPPs wholly-owned operating company, J. Walter Thompson ('JWT'), the global advertising agency group, announces the acquisition of Interactive Marketing Concepts, Inc. ('IMC'), a strategic e-business marketing company based in Toronto, Canada. Founded in 1996, IMC specialises in e-business marketing solutions that combine direct marketing and digital offerings to clients such as Parke Davis, Dairy Farmers of Ontario, NATO and Liberty Health. Under the leadership of Stuart Sherman, its current president, IMC will operate as an independent brand of JWT Canada. Since its launch under Sherman, IMC has experienced strong growth during each year of operation. In 1999, the company, which employs 25 people, reported revenues of C$2million for the year ended 30 November 1999 and had net assets of C$53,140 at 10 March 2000.
