                          STATEMENT RE CREDIT RATINGS



WPP notes the announcement by Standard & Poor's on 7 May 2008, suggesting that a
successful acquisition of Taylor Nelson Sofres plc ("TNS") by WPP could affect
WPP's credit ratings.   WPP wishes to confirm that any offer it may make for TNS
would be structured in a manner that should not adversely affect its credit
ratings. As previously announced, there can be no certainty that any offer will
ultimately be made by WPP for TNS or as to the terms of any such offer.
