OGILVY GROUP UK ACQUIRES PROMOTIONAL MARKETING COMPANY DIALOGUE
WPP announces that its wholly-owned operating company, Ogilvy
Group UK, has acquired 100% of the equity of Dialogue Marketing
Partnership Limited ('Dialogue'), a UK promotional marketing
company, which will be merged with WPP's existing promotions
company, Promotional Campaigns, early next year.
Dialogue's clients include Burger King, Dulux, Gillette, McVitie's
and Whitbread. Promotional Campaigns clients' include Bestfoods,
IBM, American Express, Hoover, Tate & Lyle and B&Q.
Dialogue had revenues of £3.2m in 1999 and net assets of £976,000
as at 31 December 1999.
The acquisition of Dialogue reflects the Ogilvy Group's
recognition of the growth potential of the promotions area, where
Dialogue has a strong track record. The merged company will also
continue to offer executional expertise across the whole range of
sales promotion activities.
