APPOINTMENT OF NON-EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN
Xaar plc ('Xaar' or 'the Company'), the inkjet printing technology group
headquartered in Cambridge, is pleased to announce that Mr. Phil Lawler will be
appointed as a non-executive director with effect from 1 June 2007. Following a
handover period, Mr. Lawler will become non-executive Chairman of the company
with effect from 1 July 2007.
Arie Rosenfeld will retire from the Board at that time, having been Chairman of
Xaar since before the Company's IPO in October 1997. During his decade as
Chairman, Xaar's revenues have increased tenfold.
Phil Lawler, aged 58, has extensive experience of high-technology industries,
having spent 18 years until 2002 at Hewlett-Packard in various senior positions,
most recently as Chairman and Managing Director of Hewlett-Packard, UK and
Ireland. After leaving Hewlett-Packard, Mr. Lawler has been a director of a
number of technology companies including several private companies where he has
been introduced by venture capital investors. He is currently non-executive
Chairman of EGS Ltd. and between 2003 and 2005 he was non-executive Chairman of
Densitron Technologies plc.

Additional information:
Mr. Lawler was non-executive Chairman of Empower Interactive Group Ltd., a
private, highly leveraged, venture capital backed company. As this company was
unable to raise its latest round of finance, the board considered that it was no
longer a 'going concern' and took appropriate action, placing the company into
Administration in November 2006.
Other than as stated above, there is no information concerning Philip James
Lawler which requires disclosure under Rule LR 9.6.13 of the UK Listing
Authority Listing Rules.
