              IAN DINWOODIE APPOINTED GROUP OPERATIONS DIRECTOR


Xaar plc, the Cambridge-based inkjet printing technology developer, has
announced the appointment of Ian Dinwoodie, age 41, as Operations Director at
Xaar.  Ian Dinwoodie joined Xaar on 1 September 2001 and his appointment as an
executive director on the board took effect from 13 November 2001.  With over
20 years experience in hi-tech operations, Dinwoodie brings a broad range of
valuable experience to the company.

A graduate in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Dinwoodie most recently
worked as Director of Manufacturing for Fujifilm Electronic Imaging Ltd.  Here
he was responsible for the manufacture of high-resolution scanners, image and
platesetters as well as associated software primarily for the commercial print
market.  The UK operation was the only one of its type outside of Japan within
the Fujifilm family.

Over the years, Dinwoodie has held a variety of roles in engineering, quality
assurance and manufacturing within the semiconductor, electronics, and
electronic imaging industries, during positions at Ferranti, Digital Equipment
Corporation and SCI.

Dinwoodie will spearhead the relocation of Xaar's Cambridge-based
manufacturing facilities for the XJ500 printhead to their Jarfalla production
centre near Stockholm in Sweden.

There are no other details requiring disclosure in respect of paragraph 16.4
of the Listing Rules for Mr Dinwoodie.
