XP Power PLC 16 April 2004 Embargoed until 0700 16 April 2004 XP Power plc ('XP' or 'the Group') Quarterly Trading Update XP, one of the world's leading providers of power supply solutions to the mid-tier of the electronics industry, is today issuing an update on trading for the first quarter of its current financial year in advance of its Annual General Meeting scheduled for 21 April 2004. During the quarter ended 31 March 2004, trading has remained in line with the Company's expectations. As expected, the mix of its bookings has continued to show steady improvement, with over 50% of first quarter bookings being for 'XP' branded product. This performance should allow the Group to continue its upward trend in gross margin from the 33.5% achieved for the year ended 31 December 2003. With regards to the end markets it serves, the Group is seeing continued signs of confidence from its customer base. In particular, the communications and semiconductor manufacturing equipment sectors are showing increasing signs of recovery.
