YOUNG & CO.'S BREWERY, P.L.C.
Chairman's AGM Trading Statement
In his statement to shareholders at today's AGM, John Young, Chairman of Young
& Co's Brewery PLC made the following comments about current trading:
'Trading during the first quarter has been good, with turnover, beer volumes
and profits all ahead of the same period last year. Investment in the
business continues. We have completed the acquisitions of the Waverley in
Aldwick, the Greyhound in Hendon, Horts in Bristol and the Lamb Inn in Hindon
and terms have been agreed on a further three houses. We have also completed
the conversion of Le Chateau, Bristol, and have nearly completed the Coach &
Horses Kew, the Grove Balham and Ship East Grinstead, all of which open in
August. We continue to pursue opportunities for expanding our retail estate
and anticipate further acquisitions, refurbishments and new openings during
the course of the year.
'Whilst it is still early to be predicting the outcome for the year as a
whole, we are confident that the continued implementation of our strategy will
enable Young's to make further progress in the year ahead.'
