The board of Young & Co.'s Brewery, P.L.C. today announces that Brian Palmer, a
non-executive director and a member of the Young family, who was due to retire
from the Board on 4 October 2006, has agreed to extend his tenure on the Board
for a further period. He now plans to retire from the Board on 21 March 2007.
